A few weeks ago we visited the Waikato Museum to look at the Wearable Arts exhibition.

We were studying the letter k and we decided to make kites.  We had great fun flying them.

Visiting the Computer Suite.

Once a week we get to visit the Computer Suite at school.  We are learning to turn on the computers, to type our names and to go on to different reading and maths programmes.

Making dolls from the corn husks.

We made dolls from the corn husks.  We soaked the husks and tried to dye them green and red.  Then we dried them and turned them inside out.  We used string to tie their arms and legs.  We drew faces and glued the fibre to use for the hair.

We named them all.  Which do you like the best? 

Our Visit to the Maize Maze

Last Thursday a group of very excited children boarded the bus to travel to the Maize Maze at Te Kowhai.  We had to listen carefully to the instructions before we entered the maze.
Once in the maze we used our problem solving skills to find our way.  Sometimes we turned left and sometimes right.  Sometimes we had to turn around and go back because we had cometo a dead end! 

Once we were out of the maze we got to see some animals and play on some ride on toys.  It was a tired, happy group of children who returned back to school again.

At school we have been doing a lot of follow up learning activities about our Maize maze trip.
